Have Youz Seen This? SNL rips off Tim and Eric?

I know I speak for Marty when I say that “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” is the best show to ever appear on television. Say what you will about “Seinfeld” or “I Love Lucy,” but I never saw milk shoot from a man’s nipple on either of those shows.

Anyway, it’s safe to assume that the writers for Saturday Night Live agree with the above statement, given that they seem to have (kinda) ripped off Tim and Eric in the season premier over the weekend.

Welcome to the American Visionary Art Museum (Baltimore, MD)

American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore MD

American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore MD

A few years ago, while I was still at Charming, my boss had the grand idea of whisking the entire creative dept off to Baltimore for a day and treating us to the American Visionary Art Museum on Key Highway. It was a planning nightmare from the start and one of those rocket ships that never seems to get off the ground. Fast forward to this past weekend, where the wife had a conference (and a room) @ the Marriot Waterfront. I forgot the name of the museum, so I shot my ole boss a text to which he responded quickly with both the name… and deep regret at not getting any of us there. The trip was a phenomenal hour and forty minutes, the weather was spectacular and the museum was everything I was told it’d be… and more. For some pictures of my experience (I wasn’t allowed to take any inside… but I did anyway), head after the JUMP.

Go Vinyl!: Jethro Tull Aqualung

Jethro Tull's Aqualung (front cover)

I’m not buying CD’s anymore. They’re the worst. The cases and then the discs… you have no where to put them and they just take up space and they break and they get scratched. Its awful. So I’ve made a pledge to purchase music in two forms from now on. Digi and Vinyl… or both. Some of the newer albums or reissues come with complimentary digital downloads. It’s heaven. My “Going Vinyl” feature will showcase new editions to my fledgling but growing Vinyl collection. Today’s issue… Jethro Tull’s Aqualung… after the JUMP.

Have Youz Seen This? (Arcade Fire – The Wilderness Downtown HTML 5 Music Video)

screen shot of the Arcade Fire, Wilderness Downtown

Welcome to my second Have Youz Seen This? post, a section where I feature content from the internet that I did NOT create, but still wish to share. Today’s post features some heavy duty HTML5 lifting by the collaborative genius of Arcade Fire and director Chris Milk. The band is no stranger to interactive music videos, with their previous album’s lead single “Black Mirror” setting an early tone. At the Wilderness Dowtown, Users can input personal information (address) and use the keyboard and mouse to interact with some visual aesthetics, so that the end result becomes a nostalgic and customized music video, showcasing the song “We Used to Wait” from the Suburbs. To see my version and to create your own, please … proceed past the JUMP.
