Have Youz Seen This? SNL rips off Tim and Eric?

I know I speak for Marty when I say that “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” is the best show to ever appear on television. Say what you will about “Seinfeld” or “I Love Lucy,” but I never saw milk shoot from a man’s nipple on either of those shows.

Anyway, it’s safe to assume that the writers for Saturday Night Live agree with the above statement, given that they seem to have (kinda) ripped off Tim and Eric in the season premier over the weekend.

On Saturday SNL began it’s 36th season with an episode hosted by Amy Poehler and musical guest Katy Perry. And while Perry’s Elmo shirt stole the show, it’s the “Tiny Hat” skit that has some people calling SNL writers plagiarists. Take a look yourself.

First watch the video from SNL this weekend at the top of this post.

Now, here’s Tim and Eric with their skit back in 2007:

Even Tim Heidecker (pride of Allentown, PA!) is pointing out that SNL writers are thieving animals who will stop at nothing to get a laugh* by commenting about the #tinyhatswar on Twitter.

So, what do you think? Was this plagiarism? Or was this thievery?

*BTW, I get that he’s kidding.
